I just put in a brand new stock PI Gt motor in my 98. With mods below(except no pulleys) I dynoed 260 rwhp and 295 rwtq. I was planning on the direct port nozzle nitrous system from NOS. How much would you think is safe to run. 100 shot, 125 shot, or 150 shot? I want the motor to last at least 3 years. What do you think? Thanks.

Unless you have a built bottom end and are going to spray over 150 I am not convince that direct port is necessary. There are some guys who have blown up intakes due to puddling with 150 shots. Those are even rare. I havnt yet seen someone blow one up with less than a 150 shot. If I was you I would go with the NX plate kit wet system. Other than search the forum there are plenty of threads.

The direct port kit is a waste of money if you are running stock internals. The stock internals can support a 125 shot, but that's pushing it. If you are going to keep your stock internals, I would get the NX plate kit. Or put some forged parts in, and spray 200 with the direct port

I second that Tanner get a Nitrous Express plate system for
your 4.6L .
For the price you will pay for a direct port system you could get
the plate system and everything else you need to run it on your car.

I don't like the NOSzle kit. I plan on switching to an NX plate kit myself. With all goodies (heater, WOT switch, window switch, etc...) I made the numbers in my sig dyno tuned. That is with 125 jets. Talk about unimpressed! People with the plate kit are making 485 or so torque. I make what 395 or something. NOT COOL. When you first hit it, it takes so long to fill the lines in the kit that there is a bad delay and what I consider a bad lean spike since the nitrous is under more pressure and goes through the lines faster than the fuel can (1000psi vs. 50 or so). I do have a purge and it helped a little. I hate that. Then when you shut the kit off at the end of the 1/4, it pulls the fuel out of the lines, floods the engine, and it dies on me 3 out of 4 times. The only way to prevent it is to just let off the gas with it in gear to keep the engine turning and cleaning the fuel out. This means backfire galore. Sounds horribly out of tune, but that is just the way the kit is. I usually just clutch at the end of the run and keep a bit of throttle in it to keep the RPM's up. That's rediculous for over $2500 invested in the kit. Those are the cons. Pros are that I never have to worry about a blown intake. Worth it? Hell no. Get the NX plate and the Gen X2 kit and be A LOT happier than I am. I really hope this helps you.
Oh BTW to change jets, you have to remove the injectors and fuel rail, take every noszle out and change 2 jets on each one, then put on new o-rings and reinstall. About 2-3 hours if you do it right. NX you just change 2 easy to reach jets by the intake. 15 minutes tops for an idiot, 5 if you're good.

Venom Nitrous- You are correct your numbers do not look right.
If you are taking the chance of running lean you should not
run it because you are risking death to your engine.
I am seriously considering the Nitrous Express plate system on
my 96 GT.The only thing I would want would be a good tune though.
The torque numbers is what caught my eye with the NX plate
system too.

Thats not that bad. I'm guessing with tune and labor it is like $1400-$1500.

It is definitly worth every penny for all the power you
will gain from the NX.
Make sure to get all the saftey goodies and a good dyno
tune and your engine should be fine.

Venom - man thanks for posting. I'm so tired of everyone that doesn't own either swing of the sag of the noszle kit.

now as a lil side by side comparison. My car on a nx 100shot makes over 400rwhp and over 500rwtq, and that is the single shark nozzle efi kit.
Now is the possiblity of a fuel puddle there, yes, but that is why i stick to the 100shot. I've yet to see or hear of anyone having issues with a 100 shot.
