I've got a 91 Coupe with 100HP shot of nitrous via an NX wet kit. Timing is at 10* and when shift into 2nd gear with my AOD I get some pinging until the RPM's pull back up. I've got a shifter mounted actuator button rather than the WOT switch, so if I let off the button until the RPM's build back up its fine. Does that sound normal or do I still have to much timing?

I'd wire up a WOT switch personally.

Clean your maf elements, run 93 gas and pull another 2* out to be safe. What plugs do you run and what gap? Autolite 24's gapped @ .035" should be ideal.

Yeah i've got 24's gapped at that. I dont like the WOT switch just for sake of spinning the tires out of the hole. That way I can control when it comes on, if I dont need it and I can beat the competition on motor then I dont have to waste the NOS.

You run a switch as well to turn the WOT switch on. If the switch is off and you go WOT, your running on motor.

yeah thats how i have it on my car. I have a switch to actually turn on the Nitrous, and have a microswitch on the Throttle. So i can just take off on motor and just flip the switch on..and on comes the nitrous.

Yeah I have the arming switch in the ash tray, just not as convienent at the shifter switch. I know enough to only squeeze the button under full throttle. Its an automatic so it doesnt take a brain surgeon, hehe.

So I should back my timing down to 8* and run 93 octane and that'll cure the ping?
