Not Sure If You Guys Watch

cmon..... watched the show and laughed my ass off

Tested the limited slip differential by dumping the clutch AT 6000 RPM
BBK CAI, shorty headers, U/D pulleys. 70 MM TB and they claimed 50 hp
Put on el cheapo shocks, left stock springs, bushings, control arms
Put in a set of 3.73's and a cat back exhaust- ok decent modes
claimed they did a paint job including a new trunk lid and wing for $2500
Claimed they put $5000 in the car with new paint, rims, tires, exhaust, suspenion, engine parts, headlights, and other parts EXCLUDING 25 man hours- assuming $70 an hour
Then they ran against a 71 mach 1 with a 429 super cobra jet running with slicks, 102 race fuel at the strip who clearly was dogging it the entire race so they could win by 2 car lengths in a fox convert with 2 people in it on street tires
They said stock this was a mid 15 second car
AFTER all of their mods that added all that HP they get the time slip and it says
10.8 @64 in the 1/8 mile which is ............................................

17.12 @ 79 mph in the 1/4 mile :rlaugh:

Then some putz buys the car for $9200? :crap:

10 hp for the cai, 10 for the pulleys, 25 for the exhaust, 5 the TB. Simple math Mike. But seriously it is nice to see a fox on TV. The only other show to see them is street outlaws and I hate that show.

Geez, you guys are so crotchety haha, of course it had some stupid stuff to entertain the general public, but they had a couple decent parts go on there and the fox maybe got a little notoriety. And when is the last time any automotive show was 100% accurate?

It was entertaining at least. BTW wish I could paint mine for 2500, haha

Don't take me wrong. I'm glad they used a fox body for a show. I just don't like that show a lot. I've seen it on occasion but mostly euro trash/crap cars are used. I have no interest in those vehicles and think the short stubby fellow is annoying. The "inaccuracies" is just par for the course. Maybe I'll catch that episode in a re run and watch. Idk

Sounds similar to Gas Monkey Garage which I do not watch anymore. Seems they always find a sucker to sell a car to for way too much money and they take a lot of short cuts on some of their cars if not most.

I love Street Outlaws. The wreck that Justin Schearer was in was pretty bad.
Me too. Not for everyone but I like it. That was a terrible wreck and amazed he wasn't hurt worse/killed. They also handled that terribly. Started pulling him out of the car etc wtf? If he had a significant neck/spinal injury they could have paralyzed/killed him. Found that entire episode disturbing. Wrecking your car is just bad lol

I know it's not real street racing, but it is real racing. That's what I like about it.

Joe
True. I think Discovery channel upset a lot of people the first season it came out by making it look like the show was about "illegal street drag racing". I was upset too after watching it at first but picked it back up the second season. The spin off show is terrible that's filmed in New Orleans, however, I do think Kye Kelly is a cool guy and the best and most consistent driver next to Daddy Dave.

Agreed. The NO show is pretty weak.
