Well, I was debating weather or not to make the 300 mile journey to visit my parents yesterday evening, and I just went out to get some beer and noticed a puddle under my car. Sure enough, water pump is on it's way out! So long story short, I probably would have broken down half way there yesterday, but by staying home, I saved myself the major headache and money for not having to had my car towed! Now I just have the headache of replacing my water pump...

My car just did the same thing two months ago. I had a puddle on the garage floor and I couldn't find the source of the leak. The radiator hose clamp from the pump was loose, so I tightened it and filed her back up. Next time I drove it and parked, I had another puddle. Traced it from the weep hole on the bottom of the pump.

I replaced it with a Duralast pump from Autozone. All new, made in the USA for around $40. My car now runs cooler than it ever did. My install was very easy, but I do not have A/C and have had already fought the seized bolts two years ago.
