Check out this video if you haven't all ready. It talks about 2 other cars the Focus RS and the Mitsubishi Evo but has a good part about the BMW 135i M Sport. seems like a nice car. It's kinda funny, inside the car the 3 guys look like they are on a Sunday drive but outside the car is screaming.

I was at Home Depot the other day and I am the type to park way out in the lot, up hill preferrably. So, on my quest to find that special spot, I parked two spaces over from a real sharp little Audi TT. As I was walking back out to my car, there was this lil chippy ahead of me by a good 20 feet, and I couldn't help but notice her looking at my car. She checked it out a good three times before she turned around and realized that I was behind her, and in denial, she hopped in her car and sped off.
It's why Mustang has lived on for so many years, it's the Harley Davidson of American cars at Japanese motorcycle price. Sure there are a lot better cars out there, all of them seeming to want to spin off of the Mustang's heritage and beat it with magazine numbers. If they can't capture the soul of the Mustang, they'll simply have a magazine car.
Why is it that I usually just cruise along at the speed limit? The Mustang is fun to drive, it isn't a quick appliance that is so quiet inside that you simple must do 20-40 over the speed limit in order to get the heck out of it as quick as possible so that you can do something more enjoyable.
I enjoy the fact that everytime I turn the key on the Mustang it brings a smile to my face. I don't want to initiate a sewing machine with cool blow off valve sounds; it's just not me no matter how much of a silent killer it may be.

I completely agree. I absolutely LOVE driving my car. It may not be the fastest but its got plenty of balls comparatively. I would love to DD my car forever, but i also want another stang so they'll have to share DD duties
I compleatly agree. My car puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it. The last 5min of a trip back home is painfull, cuz I just love driving it so much. The BMWs are great cars though. It does apeal to a different person though. I was in a local shop the other day, and they had a white 335i in a white pearl, vert, with that red red interior and a set of M wheels on it. The car was SICK to say the least. I was looking at it with my buddy, and he told me to sell my mustang, and buy the BMW, (he drives a brand new Hummer H3.) I thought about it for about 3 seconds, and told him there was no way I could get rid of my car and replace it with the BMW. It just would be too inferior to the mustang to fill its space, if you know what I mean. Deff a nice car though.

The other day, I test drive a bone stock 2003 GT, let me tell you, I couldn't stand driving that guttless wonder. I couldn't tell I was flooring the car. It was in great condition though. Show room perfect. Just no performance whatsoever. I have never felt this way about a stock BMW. Seems they engineer driving pleasure into the car. And the price refects the car.
You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but I have to wonder how you would never feel that way about a BMW? I believe your post to be very nebulous because it really lacks the supportive details required to ensure proper justification.

I believe any brotheren on here would agree that BMW makes a fine machine, but for a lot of us, listening to an inline six come to life, while it may be fun for a while, just doesn't bring smile after smile mile after mile for us. It really stems down to a personal preferance, nothing more, no bashing on any part, as it's something wired in us that we can't always identify, but feel the urge to satisfy.
Now, it's tough to do so. Some guys figured out that many of the M3's suspension components can directly swap over to the 335, taking away much of the advantage the M has over the 3 in handling. This is not including the EDC option on the M, but the two now handle very close.
Assuming you add a flash or a piggyback to the 3, the advantage of the M becomes smaller. Gas mileage on the M sucks too, and after this run of M's in the 3 series, they're ditching the V8 and going back to FI.
In the end though, it's still an "M," which does add a certain amount of "prestige" to the car, and re-sale value wise too, so those are things to consider.
Either of the two is a great car. I, myself, couldn't see paying 64k (MSRP) for the same features (other than the M stuff, of course) I got in the 335i for 44k OTD. No matter how you look at it, that's a lot of coin. It's all a personal choice I guess.
What would you buy then that has 4 doors, is built well, looks good, handles good, takes well to mods, has good resale value, and has the same type of maintenance/warranty plan like the Bavarian car does?
The list to choose from is short, trust me.
I dont have any children, so there is no need for 4 doors. I hunt, and ride dirtbikes, so I require a truck. So... for my personal uses, my current F150 does fine for me. Again, if i had 50 grand for a sunny day car, it wouldnt be a bmw. Just my personal opinion.
Lexus IS F
Just like others have said, german engineering is hard to get by. It just blows my mind everytime how they handle, steer and ride so well. To have a car that goes exactly where you want it to, without beating up your kidneys scores in my book.
As much as I'd love to have a 3 series or M3, I'll never trade the stang for one. It's a fun car, period. Doesnt really do anything "great", it is what it is. But one thing I know for sure, I'll have more fun in my mustang than any german car. Might have a ton of fun in a 3 series for a day, but it wont keep me entertained forever.
There seems to be some complaints.

"Also forgot to add that when the "Service engine soon" light comes on the car jerks and the engine vibrates vigorously and feels like I'm driving a volkswagen bus with 300,000 miles on it. The HP goes from 300hp to about 75hp which makes it unsafe on CA freeways. People warned me about BMW's being in the shop alot but when they are working their fun to drive. "
I know that my old, slow, under-powered Pony isn't anything fantastic, blows plugs if you don't know how to torque them properly, and is accused of lasting 200,000 plus miles, has little creaks here and there, but us 'Stangers have a huge aftermarket to acquire cheap fixes on our cheap rides.
So here's my thought, let the BMW 335i blow past with all of the dollars flying out of the window, I'll be sure to give him/her a ride home from the repair shop.
If I wanted newer tech in a Pony, I'd move up to a 3V 09 model year.
Every major manufacture has problems:
1) Are they something you can deal with?
2) Is it something you can prevent by an extra prevetative step?
3) If it does happen, is there an easy, low-cost solution?
4) Are people being over critical, or is there a genuine concern with safety?
5) It may be warrantied until 100,000 miles, but if it spends more time in the shop, is the inconvienence worth the little bit of time you spend actually enjoying the image?
I've recommended my customers to Lexus dealers for their executive needs.
