what kind of rear wheel power numbers would i put down with a kenne Bell and AFR 165's with the supporting mods on a 94 GT?? .. My guess is 400 the wheels tops.....but i dont want anymore then that because of reliability issues. Also kind of boost would i put down with that the heads there...???

400 or a bit less sounds like the range you could expect

I don't know the answer to your boost Q
but
I'm gonna have you think about that Q a bit with these thoughts :D

Consider this about boost and the amount you might see on a gauge :)

Say you have a stocker Stang and you put out 10lbs

Take that same Stang and install h/c/i and all supporting mods
with the same blower setup.

The motor has become more efficient :nice:
and
You will now see less than 10lbs

Is that good or bad

Where I'm going with this is :D
amount of boost is not totally indicative of making horse power :nono:

Also ... with a KB ... the small blower can run outta breath if you got it all
setup with h/c/i

i got ya Grady, it will see less boost with them heads because there will be less "pressure" in the engine, its not as restrictive.

That is exactly where I was going :nice:

Now ... if say you could bring back up that combo with h/c/i to 10lbs again
and
The blower was still in its effective range of output

Well ... thats just a different way to show :D
10lbs is not just 10lbs in different combos :nono:

Thats why you see a lot of the time
a guy has a good bit of boost on a stocker ......
its so restrictive

My cousin made 396rwhp with 6lbs of boost on a stock bottom end '94 with an FTI custom cam and a holley systemax I lower intake. he has since switched to a GT40 lower with a flowzilla manifold, but he hasn't re-dyno'd the car. With his "old" combo I lit the tires up in 3rd gear at around 75mph... it was one white knuckle drive I never want to have again.

i made 330/380 at 7# with my KB 1.7 and a completely stock cobra motor. i'm throwing on 165 ped mount and a tmoss ported lower in a few weeks so i guess i'll see what the increase is. i don's see why this and a good cam couldn't easily get you to 400. i'm hoping to be around there with the stock cam.
