This was my third time to the track with the '06. This was the Northern VA Mustang Club's Drag Day(four hour private rental). The only mods I've done to the car since last Septmeber are the Nitto NT555s, different wheels and lowering springs. I put my car on a diet again as I stripped out the pass. seat, all the back seat, Shaker1000 subs/amps and the trunk liner/spare and jack.
The Nittos didn't do me much good off the line, but only chirped going into 2nd and 3rd whereas last year, the KDWSs spun too much into 2nd and kicked into 3rd. The chart below shows the last time I was at the track and this time. The color codes mean I used the same tuner settings for each group of runs. The last group(green), I used the parking brake while stageing which allowed me to raise the RPMs to 2000 and not brake the back tires lose. It didn't help me much as I couldn't get the release right and not spin too much out of the hole(might as well been a clutch:rlaugh: ). The only area I really made a signifigant gain was my overall MPH(+1.38). I don't know when I'll get back to the track this year(hopefully out west in Sept:nice: ), but I know I now need the sticky track tires to hopefully lower my 60' by several tenths and put me solidly in the 12s. I had an absolute blast as I made 16 passes and got to see some FAST cars as well:rock:

It had 30 day tags on it and he was babying it running mid 14s and 15s. It was just cool to see somebody actually driving theirs:nice: There was a black vert GT500 that cruised up to the track 1 hour+ with us as well:nice:

Kool, I see a helmut on you, not necessary here until your in the 12's. Is that their track rule, or your own comfort.

At Cordova, you need one if you run 13's or faster. That's an NHRA rule. Is your track IHRA?

Looks like you got a lot of runs in. I only got 3 in the other day, and didn't do any better than before. But I singed my clutch on a burnout, so I babied it a bit for the rest of the day.

I was wrong Dark, that's a verbal committance by the tracks here on test and tune nights. Actually Byron doesn't really have any rules or tech inspection, see 11 second cars on tune nights with no helmuts on.

Looking at GLD and Route 66, they both adhere to NHRA - 13 and below go rent a helmut..

Even at the test & tune they adhere to full NHRA rules. 13.99 and quicker must wear a helmet. There was some "eye candy" there. Just the other day, I heard one guy refer to them as "pit lizards". There was one girl there that MANY of guys were talking about:D(I was done snapping and was racing by the time she showed up).
Yeah, my quest for 12s was quickly busted as on my fifth run I ran my day's best of the 13.138. Apparantly, the heavier rear wheels/tires did hinder my performance just enough to prevent me from breaking even into the 13.0s:( I was able to click off five 1.9X 60's in a row however. The suspension was very noticeable over last year. There was hardly any body squat on launch or shifts(which probably hurt the times). Also my front grill being totaly open compared to last year having the OEM grill acting as an even larger wind catcher couldn't have helped at the big end.

Here are a couple of vids. They were both shot in widescreen mode so that's why it looks odd:)

Several of my runs(from about half track zoomed in on the starting line). Since it was test & tune, I wasn't at all worried about my reaction times(ZZZ), more so on getting the car to hook and launch well. Wow, my car was loud with the Flows & O/R H!

*edit* Judging by the time my camera was recording and the lane choice, those were the four runs that are orange in my chart from the original post.
