i recently bought an o/r h-pipe and when i was in the process of installing it, i noticed that the stock smog tube was too short so i just plugged it(i recently removed the smog pump......)

while taking it for a drive, i noticed that it sounded like it had an exhaust leak somewhere... so i put it back on stands and inspected it...i cant seem to figure out where the leak is at OR maybe it isn't a leak at all........is it supposed to sound that way....????

will it effect anything if the stock smog tube and the tube on the h-pipe are plugged????

thanks in advance....

Just get some hose to use as an extension. Tighten down w/ radiator style hose clamps. The one on mine is silicone based. IDK what other types of hose would work.

Plugging up the tube on the "h-pipe side" will have no effect. But plugging the smog tube might make your CEL come on. But idk for sure.

Sometimes when installing a h-pipe, you will not tighten the nuts enough (even though it looks like it's fine). I did with mine. When the motor was cold, I started the car, and I put my hand at each junction to feel for exhaust pulses. Then I tightened as necessary and that was it! But once the pipes get hot, it will be tough to feel the pulses.
