going to switch out my catted x pipe for an off road h, american muscle has a pypes o/r h for $130 and a bbk for $160. is there much of a difference between pypes and bbk other than name and price? right now i have lt headers, catted x and flowmaster american thunder catback and im looking for a deeper and louder exhaust

Price dictates quality, I would not be too worried about a shorty H-pipe since there is not much to F up. But I would still spring for the BBK.

I've never been a fan of Pypes. They are simply the "poor man's" exhaust outfit. If you're going to go with an H-pipe, there's no manufacturer better than MAC. I debated between BBK and MAC when buying my old O/R H. The soud of the MAC is just superior to BBK in my opinion. I bought my H from JD's Performance for $160 (free shipping). I had an excellent experience with them (fast, friendly, and great quality).

what brand long tubes do you have? bbk mid pipes will only fit bbk long tubes. Pypes and Mac will fit almost everything

i have pacesetter, went with them because of the price and im near philadelphia. right now i have a magnaflow catted x but its for a 94-95 5.0 with shorty headers and i cut it and had to weld on some new pipe so they would fit. now it sounds like something in the cat broke loose somehow and it makes an awful noise, like a bolt rattling around in a can and im just looking to get an off road h. preferably something that will bolt right up this time aha so it sounds like ill go look for a mac..

and night shifter, im in love with your car

Sounds like a busted cat....pypes isnt too terrible but people seem to have to give their mid pipes a shimmy or two to fit right...does pacesetter not make a midpipe?

Thanks for the compliment!

I recently got the Summit H-pipe(full length though, not sure if they make one for long tubes), but, the fit and quality was much better than expected. Might want to check theres out..

I got a ton of compiments on my setup at Carlisle. Mac o/r prochamber and borla stingers. I will second JDSperformance.com. I built most of my fox body with parts from him. Exhaust, procharger, heads, etc. This was sometime ago, but great guy to deal with! I will say my prochamber was a pita to fit in. Once I got it all convinced to line up, haha, it looks perfect, I just had to yell at it a bit!

just a quick update.. picked up a bbk h off of craigslist for cheap and it looks like its gonna have to be widened about an inch or two but ill make it fit, gonna put it in on thursday and hopefully the tune will be in from bama so i dont throw any codes. im just hoping the sound will be what im expecting.. if anyone is running anything close to what i am ( pacesetter long tubes, bbk off road h, and american thunder catback or flowmaster 40's i believe) please let me know how you like it
