Im going to install my mustang tuning x-pipe tomorrow and just want to know if I need some sort of gaskets?? I read somewhere on a search that I did, and just wanted it clarified. Also, any reccommendations on getting to the passenger side bolts? It looks like it's not quite a straight shot with an extension, but i could be wrong.

I really don't want any surprises tomorrow, so anyone who's done it, please chime in. Streetstang???

thanks everyone!

yeah just make sure you have some swivels and different sized extensions...

I have installed my X-pipe about 3 times now...I have also used the stock gasket every time....just make sure your careful with it....it's delicate..

My only advice is to be patient with the passenger side....you will probalby curse and wish you never did it when you get to that side....but good luck...

oh and also make sure to disconnect your battery or you might get some nice fireworks off your starter :flag:

i used an extension and an impact gun. bolts came right off. The hardest part for me was to get the 02 sensors off. I had to use a long ass flat head screwdriver to unclip the 02 sensors. I didnt replace the gasket on the passenger side, even though i had bought one. No leaks or any problems what so ever. Oh, another thing that took a little work was getting one of the 02 sensors off of the stock hpipe. I took the welding torch to it and heated it up really well and it finally came off :flame:

good luck :nice: and enjoy the sound :)

Thanks for the help With all the tips, I had no surprises. It was a bit of a wrestling match and a contortion job, getting around the cats to the headers and to those damn front 02 sensors, but it wasn't too bad.

Report: the pypes exhaust o/r x-pipe with 40 series original flowmasters is one swick combo!! This IS one of the exceptions to the chambered muffler/x-pipe combo, in that, it sounds awesome!! There is a SOTP increase for sure, and the volume is great. At WOT, it sounds like all hell is breaking loose, and it is semi-reasonable at a gradual acceleration and very reasonable at cruising speeds. I reccommend this pipe to everyone!

How much louder is your exhaust with that pipe? I was thinking of buying that one.

sooooooo much louder  You will easily scare the crap out of small children and women. I had just the flowmasters on the GT before the xpipe and they sounded stuffy to me, but the xpipe really woke them up and made them SO much louder. I love to get on the gas when I go under bridges and look at the looks people give me when they hear my car! :jester:

Cool, I wonder if they'll wake up my magnaflows some

The volume is WAY louder under any acceleration!! but it retains that tuned sound still. I'm not used to the volume yet, but I am a little worried about getting pulled over. I swear, it's much louder than my 5.0 w/ o/r h-pipe! I really love it!!

And the check engine light: i didnt give it a chance to go on....i turned off the rear 02 sensors with my Predator.
