A guy in my car club said that an X pipe he bought for 94-03 GTs doesn't fit his 04 GT. It is the VRS pipe. Does anyone know why? This is scaring me, because I bought a UPR o/r X for my 03 GT... but as many of you know, due to a weird story, my 03 is being swapped for an 04 GT. Will it NOT fit my 04?! Did I just waste over $200?!?!

Your friend is full of it. All mid pipes for '99-up 4.6's are the same (as far as application). GT's, Mach 1's, Cobras, BULLITT's, it doesn't matter. The earlier models ('96-'98) were slightly different and can't be made to fit without serious modification, but any midpipe off an '03 will fit an '04 NO PROBLEM.

I put a MAC O/R H-pipe on my car and love the sound. Can't really notice the power increase but I'll see when I get to the track next week if my recent mods helped.

Enjoy your new ride.

I have a vrs on my 01. I am aware of no change from 01 to 04 that would affect the midepipe fitment. that is if they sent him the right one.

I have a feeling that is probably the answer. How did he get a '94-'03 pipe? If he got one that fit a '94/'95, then that is the problem.

BTW, bolt that UPR pipe in and enjoy it. That was probably the best $150 I've spent on my car. It sounds great!

the only difference in the 04 pipe and the 99-03 pipes is that for 04 ford relocated the rear 02 sensor placement, if i remember reading correctly it has moved from behind the 2nd set of cats on the 99-03 to in the 2nd set of cats on the 04
