OBD-II Scan tool

I was looking into purchasing an OBD-II scan tool. Does anyone have any recommendations? I want something that has the capability to read all the codes, log data, and be able do things such as cycle ABS solenoids etc. Any ideas? THANKS

if you want to do all that and only work on fords, get a NGS, with PDS out now you might be able to find one used.

The NGS will probally be the cheapest way for you to have access to all codes including manufacuer codes, live/pid data ( cheaper aftermarket tools have very limited data) active commands and the NGS can also do things like programm pats keys and other stuff only ford scan tools can do.

Thanks! Would you happen to know if there is software which can be loaded onto a laptop which has these capabilities? Or can only a specific scan tool do this?

you can buy ford IDS but that is about 9,000 bucks.

I suggest a NGS because it can be had for under a grand used.
