Are they easy to use ?
Where do we connect this ?
I or II for our car ?

I might have an opportunity to buy one, i'm studying in electric engineering so I will have no troubles whatsoever connecting those or whatever but I just want to make sure that i'm buying the right one. I'm very tired to always have the CE light on and never know what's the problem.

Thanks!

Confirmed , 5.0 94-95 uses OBD I, 94-95 V6 uses OBD II, and if you are looking for something cheap and in case you are lazy for counting blink codes ( as i am ) use this one its cheap and the most easy code reader to use on OBD I cars. :

For 29 bucks its a hella of deal

To clarify the use of these, you will need to count beeps or flashes of the indicator light and decode the code with a manual. This is not like an OBD II, it's significantly more annoying. The better ODB I scanners are expensive.

The one I have (the one linked a few posts up) costs $30 and it is simple as hell to use. it gives you numbers. You dont have to follow any beeps or flashing lights at all.

The one listed in the link above is great. I have used it numerous times already. The best part is it gives you a code that you look up in the book that it comes with. I purchased that scanner along with the extension cable.

Does anyone know if it does abs and other systems also? Or is it just for the engine.

I'd get one anyhow - you'll need it at some point. And you can have soft codes stored which never illuminate the CEL. It's generally only the faults that can affect absolute drivability which generate a hard code. Checking codes every so often for the sake of doing so isnt a bad idea.

Good luck.
