you are right about rpm and the stock EEC - when you get up to 7,000 rpm, the engine time bomb fuse is lit and the EEC clock speed is marginal and you get errors. This has been fixed by replacing the clock with ahigher speed clock.

I would also keep an eye out for a used professionally ported Performer intake.

I have a Bliss 306 (NW ford guy), 9.5:1
edelbrock performer heads, RPMII manifold, trick flow stage 1 cam,
BBK 70mm tb, Pro-M 75mm MAF, Bosch 24# inj,
MSD 6-AL, accel CD-coil, low resistance wires (50 ohm/ft), Cu plugs,
LT headers, x-pipe. etc.
tuned on mustang loaded dyno

Redblur - it's hard to see that, but it loks like you did not twist it past 6,000 rpm (and it looks like the pull ended before it should have). It would be very interesting to see you put a pro-ported Performer on that engine and dyno again if you don't pull past 6,000 rpm.

Haha yeah, I cut the throttle at 6000RPM. I don't know much about the TF1 cam or the springs in the performer heads, and I have stock lifters, so I worry about valve float.

I have some ported/milled holley 18 degree heads.. Pain in the ass to deal with though.
