Guys, Have a very odd issue on my 05..

So, I recently noticed, hesitating when moving from a stop.. Also when I come to a stop the engine almost dies, the idle drops to 350-400ish range and sometimes even sputters some, then after a second it sits at around 500rpm..

After that when I step on the gas pedal, it seems to hesitate and as I push further it finally picks up and starts moving.. Very harshly..

This just recently occured..

05 Auto - 40k Miles, 87 Octane gas,

WORST part is the coming to a stop and almost stalling.. ALSO the idle at low speeds is bouncing all over the place...

NO CEL... Really odd

ANY Ideas??

I think there is a TSB out there on this. Lemme look quick.

Edit: I found it. Make sure you have adobe reader. http://www.stangnet.com/images/stories/docs/s197_TSBs/06-9-9.pdf

That does not sound like your problem. My car did the exact same thing when my intake came loose. Check to see if your intake is loose. I would also suggest checking your throttle body and MAF sensor to see if they are dirty.

Another possible cause is a bad throttle position sensor.

Possible, but a bad tps should throw a code and go into limp mode. I had a bad tps and that is what it did.

A bad TPS will not always throw a code:

That's where my money is. I have a bad TPS (well it's going out sorta) and every once in a while my car will go to limp home mode when I hit the resume button on cruise and I have to clear the code and it works fine. It did that crazy idle in the winter time last year, too. Gave my car some mad lope and it was sorta sweet...minus the fact that I had to give it gas to keep it alive and it wasn't because my car was fast...just something wrong with it lol

Ok, today she finally died in the middle of an intersection.. Just went into Failsafe at a stoplight..

So, I popped the hood and opened the intake and rubbed off the Mass air sensor, tapped it, and she started right back up, CIL was still on, but it had power again..

Bought a new filter, some MAF cleaner, and some seafoam..

Treated it, and so far so good..

Im going to reset the System and see what happens, if it throws another code, I will take it to the dealer :/

Also have the dealer check the fuel pump. Some early mustangs have had an issue with a defective fuel pump in the tank.
