hi. hope someone can give me an idea on how to fix my odometer (95 GT). quit working yesterday. speedo and everything else still works. i took the cluster out today to have a look and there's not much to see without getting behind the guage faces (didn't go that far). any ideas? do you think it's something mechanical with the old non-digital numbers?

btw, looks like a great site. i'll be back.

It's most likely the little plastic gear in the cluster. Mine stopped working awhile back and I haven't fixed it yet. Did both the odometer and the trip odometer stop working?

www.odometergears.com They sell the gear you'll need.

Oh and Welcome to :SNSign:

I have fixed mine and 2 friends cars. There are two gears you will need to fix. The cost is like 54 dollars and they are very easy to replace.

Haha, mine just stopped working too. Does it really cost $54 for a couple little plastic gears??

SOme good pics and links here...subscribing..Mine failed too.

As far as the price, I believe it, b/c this happened to me before, and I took it in to a shop before I knew anything about taking the cluster out.

It was almost $200 for the parts and labor.

Does anyone know if these can be changed yourself at home, or is there too much fine precision work involved that could get screwed up?

Thanks
RC

Mine went out last year and a guy from another forum came out to fix it. Only the big black gear needed to be replaced. He did it in about 15 minutes in a parking lot. Just make sure you know how everything came apart when you put it back together.
