Please correct me if I am wrong. I seem to notice that there are not any substantial gains in HP and TQ in an exhaust system unless it is an off road exhaust. Will an off road exhaust pass emission tests? A few years ago we started emission testing with our annual inspections.

it will NOT pass inspection, especially if they have a visual inspection. if it is just the sniffer, you MIGHT get lucky and barely pass. its best to assume that it will not pass though if you do have the inspections. either swap it out for every inspection, or get hi-flow cats.

A buddy of mine that works at an inspection station said that if the CEL is on, there is no way that my car will pass the emission part since they have to hook up their OBDII to the car. However, he said so long as the CEL is not on, he can fudge the rest of the exhaust test.

If you get the o/r exhaust, your cel will come on, but you can get a tune to turn the sensors off, which is what I am going to do in the next few days.

you can also use MIL eliminators if you dont have a tuner....
