Official BK_CAULEY project notch thread, lots O pics

Well i guess i will start off with a littel back ground on the car. its a 1990 ssp copue. was origanally a GA car. i bought it sometime last year and it has sat since then. the guy who had it before me totaly trashed it. i dont even know where to begin on explaining how bad it was messed up. the o2 sensors where broke off in the exhaust, the back brake lines where pinch off with vice gips because they where ripped from the calipers, the quad shocks where sawzalled off, the interior was completly trashed, 5 out of 8 pistons had 30 psi (should be around 150 ish) and he even had spring spacers on it to jack it up. only god knows why he did that. he even got drunk one night and left the hood just half way closed and it flew up and ruined the hood all of the cowling and the roof. but she is in good hands now and here it goes....

this is day one of ownership.

here is all of the newish factory black interior for it

here is me removing the old nasty blue stuff

here is the dash finally in. with a new heater core too.

here is all the old nasty blue stuff and my 1996 gts P.O.S t-45

here is the new 98% complete black interior

and now for the engine. i have the new engine in but dont have pictures of it yet. its nothing bad arse. its got GT40-p's with crane springs a b-cam and an explorer upper and lower. she is pretty quick. the aod is still strong in it so im prolly gonna leave it in there. my futer plans are for a turbo/ or f2 R'ed 410 windsor.

well out with the old.

look at that nasty engine bay. its a ALOT cleaner and neater now.

this is how i have been beating this south GA heat. lol

and here is the new hood the other one was smashed all up.

well that is all for now. i will get pictures of the new motor installed and stuff like that in the next few days. she isnt much now and its gonna be a long road to recovery, but it will be done. a bunch of your cars are a big inspiration to me and maybe one day mine will be an inspiration to others.

i like the font and placement of the tat. it looks badass.

did you get the 96 sold? are you still moving?

how do you deal with the southern heat, and a black interior, im not that far south and i hate being so damn hot in my black interior. its like even if the AC is blasting, my backs still sweating on my seats. im just curious by the way. so far i like the build too. do us all a favor and make sure that engine bay isnt so ugly.. haha

remember it would do that with a misfiring cylinder and a BAD vacum leak. i found out today when trying to beat a red light that she will break loose running 30 mph in D.

i am im going to take some more pics of the entire interior and the new motor and cleaned bay. i just wish everyone could really see how far it has actually came over the past few weeks. t was a total wreck. the pictures dont do it justice. nor do they show the harsh reallity of the damage that was previously done to it.

spinning those back tires means nothing. I think a bicycle could bust them loose from a 30 mph roll with the condition they look...

J/K.

Projects are always fun, just remember to keep getting pics of it as you go.

You wont see me ragging on project threads, I love them too much, motivates me.

A GT40 combo will run hard. Ours just went 12.17 @ 110 the other day. 100% street car, 3.55s, stock motor, stock cam, just a basic GT40P set up, bolt ons and tires. 12s are easy with them!

Good luck with it.

That is dirt cheap. WOW! That is the beauty of southern yards. I charge a fortune for fox interior up here. High demand, low supply.

I know how you feel about people ripping on your car...like you though that guy almost did!! I put my 81 notch on here telling people about the 4.6L conversion, gotted flammed to hell, then the thread was closed!!!!! That really takes a lot of nerve for somebody to dis your project.

Anyways, you need a title for is, so it's easy for us to notice....my title is "Project 81 Hack Job" All the haters made me think of that.

Keep going!!!!!!!

25th this is for you.. new tires.

and here is one of the motro installed. dont say NOTHING about the plug wires. the p heads kept burning up wires so i had to modify them to make them fit. but im going to get a new wire set and modify them like i did these so i can use the stock headers with p heads. alls you have to do i find a small 90 degree boot and trim just little off of it and they work. i found out if a boot touches just a littel it breaks down alot of the surrounding rubber but if you trim just a little rubber off nothing happens and it is still insulated.
