Would it not be a good idea to bypass the power steering pump a well? I was thinking or bypassing all 3. SP,AC and PSP.

From what I understand you can do with out the PS at the track but for a DD if you turn the wheel all the way in either direction it's going to puke all the PS fluid everywhere. Again that what I have read here. The pic I posted has the 2 ways to bypass either th AC,Smog and or the AC,Smog, PS as well.

Oh yeah sorry Wystang i meant just for the track. Drive it up there and swap belts just to see what its worth.

I guess I completely missed the green line labled track. THanks man.

Ok guys see if you can help with this. I went to auto zone and after a little trial and error found the correct belt after a few trips. The belt that works for mine is a 817K6 Bypasses the AC and smog pump. Now here's the problem. This car has a pulley set so as you know the water pump pulley is larger. Now with the origional belt the clearence between the water pump and the idler puller was extremely close but it didn't rum because the belt went down around the AC. With the new belt because the AC is bypassed the belt rubs between the water pump and the idler. Any suggestions? Is there a smaller idler I can get and if so from where?

hmm, i left out that i have underdrives, however it has a LARGER waterpump and mine doesnt rub...wierd

Yeah this is jacked up. I guess I could put a stock water pump pulley back on. Or maybe remove the idler. If anyone has any suggestions let me know.

you can get a smaller idler from auto zone......they have several in the back to fit different vehicles, but they all have the same bearing in them...........hence the reason you can use them, because the i.d. of the hole is the same as the one that is for your car....just the pulleys overall diameter is smaller.......


i work their part time........just tell them to bring you a couple of different sizes......some are grooved some arent''

but you can find one smaller......if not, let me know and i will help you with a part number

Thanks guys I appreciate the help. I found the fix without having to bother with the pulley so im gonna pass this info along. I found this site and used the 80.2 diagram which routes the belt over the top of the pulley.

The belt stock number is 795k6 it can be found at your local auto zone. This works with my underdrive pulleys, and bypasses the AC and air pump.

Back from the dead!! We need a short belt sticky or something. Seems like these questions pop up every other day. Or maybe put this in the how-to or faq section.

If you run your belt the same way as that but have stock pullies, the belt stock number will be 812k6, figured this out earlier tonight. Got it on the third try.

i deleted JUST my smog, with stock pullies, and all accesories, it was an 89.5" belt.
