Check this out guys....if you recall my car was in the shop for two weeks and I just got it out a few days ago. I got a call today that there are another set of parts being released and they are on emergency backorder and even though my no longer grinds i need to bring it back in when they arrive. Any idea what this part is that is on national back order?

I dunno, my UAW rep said there were other parts besides the 4 listed and that's why the TSB isn't out yet, waiting for the parts to be in stock.

I just got an e-mail from TTC (Tremec). They say that it will be a couple more weeks until the TSB gets through the system and parts are available. Once the TSB is available - the full list of parts to fix the grind will be known.

That is also what I was told here, even though the grind is no longer present I am being advised to bring the vehicle back in. From what my service advisor is telling me, it will be middle to late March.

They also told me it would be a couple of weeks on November 20th. I do believe something for real is going to happen soon though.

4 Parts?

Can you tell me what the 4 parts are and part numbers if you have them. I would like to show them to my dealer as they claim the only part available is #2R3Z*7230*AA Shift Fork Assembly. Just got my 01 back for the 3rd time. All they did was to drain the fluid and replace with Mercon ATF at the lowered level. (note to group: when is lowering the level of fluid considered fixing a grinding problem. in the future to check the fluid level, you or someone will have to drain the fluid and measure, not just remove the plug and see if it is up to the hole. If you sell the car and someone who is unaware of the problem goes by the owners manual will think you ripped them when the grinding starts! Just a Thought) Thanks for any information you can give.

Wow what a lot of reading....

jprez (or anyone from Dallas area for that matter:

What dealership did you take your car to? I went to Grand Prarie Ford yesterday, I was also told middle to late March due to some kind of emergency part delay. According to the svc. mgr there is also another part that isnt on the 4 parts shown. My dealership was willing to do the work under warranty, the agreed the to 1 to 2 clunk was not normal behavior.

New Tranny

Well, after 3 weeks of scheduling nightmares, I finally got my car to the dealer yesterday for my new tranny. In my earlier post, I mentioned that I took my car to the dealer to complain of the 1-2 shift grind and without hesitation they agreed to replace the transmission. I picked it up tonight and I could immediately tell a difference in the "feel" of the shifts. It is supposed to be in the 30's tonight so I will get a good test in the morning if the problem is gone. Till then...

i have had my tranny fix and or REBUILT 3 TIMES now, im at 33,000 miles, i tried , changing to mcloed clutch, flywheel, throwout bearing, steeda tr3650 stifter, redline trannyfluid. nothing helps just wish there was a tranny upgrade for syncros, or anything im sic or it. i Love my stang to peices but only love and hate is the tranny. Almost concidering putting in a t-56 in but pricey may be worth it makes all my chevy fans always ask where your stang more repairs, its not funny anymore. i get a complete hault going into third alot now mean going in for the forth time for this
This tranny me too many times

mine is f'ed up to for the fourth time, with still only exhaust mods and CAI and haven't been to the track in over a year. 22,000 miles. I'm patiently waitng for the TSB and not driving it unless I have too as it won't hardly go in second gear and has a bad whining noise now too.

Wtf

I just bought a stang last summer (03'GT Vert) and it has grinded when shifting 1-2 from very early on. It only has 3200 miles on it now and it's currently stored in my garage. All these threads about Tremec 3650 problems makes me want to take it out to reconfirm that it's really f*'d up.

Sounds like the dealer is going to do 'Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me' if I take it in this spring; so is there any realistic chance that Ford will issue a recall or maybe someone will start a Class Action Lawsuit?

Can the T56 that's used in the Cobra be retrofitted into the GT drivtrain without too much headache?

Well if you read at least any of the last 5-10 pages a TSB is on it's way. A t-56 will fit, but you're looking at 1,500.00-2,000.00 to get one, then you have to get a driveshaft, crossmember and other little things to make it work but it will work. Why spend the money though when you can get it fixed for free under warranty? Plus you can call the 800# and complain and get extended coverage. I have coverage to 75,000 miles, just waiting for the TSB. It's been a painful and lenghty matter but it'll all be worth it in the end.

Well....Now I know exactly what 1-2 "clunk" you are talking about. My 03 MACH 1 started doing it today. Darn, only 930 miles on it too. They better come out with that TSB real soon, I'm not happy. It's had the 1-2 cold clash since day one too though. GRUMBLE!!!!!
