Such is life... one day wake up and find some one told you so... like my brothers Nissian 200SX Cal DMV refuse to all him to register. You guys really need to find better news sources.
That Leno Law is a joke! My brother 65 GMC 1500 cost $165 and of course pickups have commercial tags.Ya i'm like $188 (if i recall) for my 1990 with a custom plate. I believe the plate itself is $40/year.
Would be nice to not have to SMOG it though.
That's better than no hot rods at all, no?My senator is a Democrat and most of the state is majority. I voted (R). Initially the Leno Law was good until it was altered. Car cannot be used as primary, 1000 miles a year, parades and special events only, classic insurance only. Now pre 76 no requirements what so ever, no smog, drive as much as you want, no special insurance.
about the public, I certainly don't give a
about any "laws" they pass.I walk my block and I count 10 vehicles with expired tags. I see them everywhere I'm out on the road. I ask a mechanic I know and see the same.I have written letters to both Senators and the Congressmen in my State. Multiple times.
Every single time I get a Form letter in reply that does not address the questions or comments I have.
Not even close.
It is a waste of time to write to the representatives in this State. In reality, they don't "represent" anyone at all, just their own interests.
As far as not being allowed to register a vehicle, it is not going to stop me from driving it.
They don't give aabout the public, I certainly don't give a

Same here. You don't get pulled over for an expired tag, it is a secondary offense.I walk my block and I count 10 vehicles with expired tags. I see them everywhere I'm out on the road. I ask a mechanic I know and see the same.
This is where power in numbers may help. Get car clubs involved. We have booths at car shows and racing events to educate hobbyists. Never give up. If you do, you become part of the problem.I have written letters to both Senators and the Congressmen in my State. Multiple times.
