OK..It was a lot of fun at the dyno today at TorqueFreaks. But right when I thought I would pay my $50 and get in line, a very SWEET Supra came up to the table. He was shop backed by a couple of places..had all the bells and whistles. First run...nice. Second run(add a couple guys to the rear hatch)...pedal to the metal...a little NO2. Bang!!. Pieces of engine all over. Rings, rods, oil pan, casings, etc...Hell, there was a trail of parts. Took almost hour to get all the pieces and fluid off the rollers. I have video. We are editing it. Should have it here tomorrow along with some other nice video taken there. I felt soo bad for the guy. Oh My!!:notnice:

I know...their whole crew was pretty down...there were parts from the car out in the parking lot. Oil ejected out the turbo, etc. :(

When that happens, you gotta be thankful that nobody was hurt. I knew a guy that took a connecting rod in the shoulder once, at a track, not a dyno...didn't amputate or anything, but imagine if it had been an eye or jaw or some place more vital...

Yup...a trail of tears...you were just pulling away,
And there must have been at least 20 people on the side of the car during the run. I was behind it. Instantly I knew that is was bad...hood was up, and people were rushin to see. I talke with one of the guys who works there...he said he had never seen anything like it there.

My son is taking the video to school to edit. We videotaped the whole run of the car. I just do not know what angle he was at. We also got video of everything after and pics. But I do know that was not shell gasoline they were putting in the tank. It was way too clear. You folks no more about that than I. I saw a lot of cars putting race fuel (alcohol?) in their car prior to the run cause a lot of cars seem to smell like they were very lean. I have video of this chick standing behind (7 feet from exhaust) this Evolution when it ran. As soon as he punched it...black smoke, and her hair went flying, hat shot back 15 feet. Very funny.

The Supra that blew up was Brian Robards' car. It is apparently a stock long block that was pushed beyond its intended limits one too many times. It looked like a rod bolt broke. Hopefully, the cylinder head was okay. Tim said that they are building a new engine for it anyway. Every time I see the Rrev guys screwing with one of their Supras, something breaks. Maybe my presence is bad luck. At least it wasn't Tim driving this time!:nice:

well...I thought my son had school on this monday. I totally soaced that he is on spring break. So it will be next monday when he can get to school and download the video. I do not have that capability with that camera here at my house.
