Oh the ugliness of it all....Paint prepping..

Thanks for the props guys....Just got in from laying the smack down on some stuff...drivers side is all ready to go....

The guy who's doing it in super fussy..I can't see 1/2 the stuff he's talking bout...

Jesse..That hood is an HO Fibertrends.. What they say is true, you get what you pay for...needs next to nothing for prep, and its flat, no waves and the lines are true..

Ya the wheels are nice...will be even better to see em against paint...

Doug...I cant seem to get the rake I want for the front..I thought the 18s would fill it up....It actually lifted it some....I run Macs and cut 1/2 coil in the front with my old Cobras...May have to invest in some HRs or something...Even the 95 Rs I tried with 255/40s gapped it out...thats why I went 245s with these???

Andy, I might be going with coilovers, and if so I'll be selling my H&R Sport springs. I haven't even put them on the car yet. Check out the Maximum Motorsports website for the drop rates. Would you by chance be interested if I sell `em?

Jordan...Sure, shoot me a pm when your ready..I may suck them up.

Gents...any thoughts on a scheme???

I had in mind adding some Black...like the Saleen taillight cover, rear license section...and possibly something on the hood...This dudes say no way, gotta be Red all over....Im def doing the mirrors in Red....Im not even sure of the S281 versus the stocker??? I was going to get one of those aluminum ones Griggs Racing sells...They no longer make it in alum, only carbon fiber..$$$$

Been going thru some Boss pics, some Mach1, Shelby stuff...just for ideas??? any ideas or even pics/ graphics, post em up...

Andy, that looks great, and the wheels look SICK. Are you going with the standard "Rio Red" or are you jazzing it up a little?

After looking at the pics again, you don't even need to paint the car. It looks slick enough with those wheels on it. :D

awesome man, very nice wheels, and your car is going to look great. after the motor goes in mine will see the paint booth also.. thats great the guy is fussy thats what you want. It will turn out in the end..

I second that. An anal car painter is always good, no matter what. I have seen too many apathetic people painting cars.

I would paint the covers the same color as the car. Don't forget to polish the taillights & put some clearcoat on them. Make them look brand new. I think black covers stand out too much.

Well the saga continues....if you ever painted your own car, you know what i mean...this is a slow process....but its being done right...

My Ford painter boned me and left not even 1/2 way thru the job...W.T.F...not even a call to tell me i was gonna get boned..."chick problems" thats his dilemma...Oh well....

My son really wanted to paint the car here...so thats where its happening....Took like 20 days of prep work to get it to this shape...primed/blocked and ready to go...

Looks great. Your son might allready know this but since your painting it in your garage you may want to wet the floor down before you spray your car to keep dirt and dust levels down so they dont get in the paint.
