DO NOT use Fram. They suck, at least on the Mustang they did. My dad uses them on his other cars with no problems. However I put one in my Mustang on an oil change once (even after reading all the horror stories) and I could actually hear a significant amount of valve train noise EVERY time I fired up the car. I wouldnt of bought the damn thing if the advance auto in my town carried the Motorcraft filter I was origianlly looking for.

I use Mobil 1 5w20 full synthetic and Motorcraft filers everytime. 5k is a perfect interval for synthetic oil. Also my car takes 5 but I buy 6 quarts every time just incase I need it. I might be wrong but I thought Ford changed it from 6 to 5 quarts somewhere in 2002?

I would be curious doing a search of how many people blew up thier engines related to oil filter problems.....never really hear of that

i kind of agree with you, but when you see filter comparisons where people cut them open to compare to other filters...you cant really argue with that.

plus the difference in price is like, what, a quarter or 2 between the fram and the wix and the motorcraft....im not going to run the "what if's" for a mere 50 cents. its not worth my $4000 engine
