oil gauge

ok so my 98 witha 04 pi motor , the oil gauge is kind of bouncing around not like horrribly jsut kind of up and down here and there suggestions ? comments? concerns? i really need to figure this out im about to drive to illinoius from conneticut

Check the ground and connection. A new sending unit may be needed. As this happen at certain RPM's, at idle, when it's cold or hot? How long have you had the problem?

the oil gauge is a dummy gauge anyway, you are better off installing a aftermarket oil gauge like an autometer that cost $40 and have actual results

+1 the resistor in your gauge is probably bad.

yep get an autometer oil pressure gauge

haha pretty much unanamious answer there lol, thanks guys, im assumign i shoudl probaqbly do that before i roll out to illinois huh?

ther is a problem wth oil pressure senders on Ford cars and trucks from 1999 up. there is a revised oil sender, part # 6U5Z-9278-D and sells for @$10.00, that should fix your problem

so to add on when i hit the gas it goes str8 to almsot low im assumign thats jsut the sender being an ass? shoudl ig et a new one before i roll to illinois?

for @$10.00, price of a new sender = piece of mind, hell yeah I would
