I pulled my motor last weekend and after I took the upper off of it, I noticed that the first four runners on the intake are coated with oil. I have had a bit of a smoking problem at higher rpms ie. blue smoke at 4k+. The motor runs strong and i didnt have time to do a compression check before i pulled it. It is a stock block .030 over with 25k miles on rebuilt bottom and heads. What would cause this, bad PCV? How would i fix it, any responses are appreaciated thanks -James

intake is sucking oil from somewhere, usually it is a faulty PCV valve or the PCV screen has somehow moved.

since it is out u might as well tear it down and refresh it.

PCV screen is in the lower intake, underneath the PCV valve/grommet

go buy a compression checker for 25 bucks tops. Even if it is your PCV valve, its still good to know you have some compression

buy an oil seperator if you just want to keep oil out. it's probably pooling in the upper towards the front and just spilling over.
