Oil in Intake

I pulled off the cover of my Performer intake today and found about half an ounce or a little more of oil in my upper intake. I installed the intake last summer and didn't find any oil in the stock piece. While I was installing the new intake I replaced the PCV valve and cleaned the screen with brake cleaner.

I did a search and found that a few others have had this problem, but most of them didn't have the PCV baffle in the lower intake, where mine does. Many people suggested using an oil separator in the threads that I found, but that seems like a band-aid fix to me.

What do you guys think the root of my problem is? Thanks!

worn rings/valve guides/seals. Mine soaks the intake all the time, I have worn rings, but I just deleted the PCV in an effort to reduce consumption. Running breathers is a bandaid as well.

For some reason these motors do the oil thing...it rears it heads more once you put more air into the motor...super common actually...
I did the oil separator and those pretty much kills it....Most of us run that mesh baffle as it helps....
Do you have the lower baffle cover on your Eddy?? thats a contributor also..

Yeah, I have the metal baffle in my eddy and the mesh baffle under the PCV.

With only 81k on the clock I was hoping that the rings and stuff weren't worn out, but it happens I guess.

Oil separator here I come!

I had two issues with mine. On the PCV side I used and oil separator ($10 home depot) but I also had an issue from the valve cover side. Before I rebuilt the engine I had the stock valve covers with baffle removed to add clearance for 1.7 roller rockers. The engine was sucking oil up through the valve breather into the intake tube and it pooled in the intake. No problem with my current covers.
