oil in my superchargers intake

i upgraded the 3.5in intake that came with my mongoose kit to mph's 4in intake pipping

doing the install i noticed oil in the intake near were the supercharger blades are and in the tube leading the the supercharger

is this normal or is it a problem

and if it is how do i stop the oil from getting in there

might need to replace seals in supercharger. Id take it to a shop and let them look at it.

Do have the passenger side valve cover hooked to the inlet of the sc? A little can be sucked in there.

interesting....I've never even thought to look for that...

On a side note....have you put the powerpipe on and done some driving...I'd like to know if it adds a noticeable power increase for SOTP driving....mine is on order now

When I do my install I'll let you know if I notice any oil residue

You just need an oil/air separator between the valve cover and the blower. Steeda has them. I got mine from Jegs.

An oil separator will not solve his problem. Do you have the stock cam covers? If so, then I'd suspect that Built98GT might be right. To verify, you could disconnect the hose from the drivers' side cam cover to the Power Pipe and see if it has oil in it (blow some air through it). Oil should not be coming out of the drivers' side cam cover, as that is the INLET for the PCV system.

if i have to replace seals then thats crazy supercharger has been on for about 2weeks now and i almost never get on it

thats just crazy if it has seal problems that fast..

No to sure about the V8's

I know on smaller older cars i.e 4 pots when turbo'd or SC's they have a tendancy to cause the oil sump to presurise slightly and it forces a bit of oil up to the air intake breather pipes. I heard this was normally caused by blow by or worn piston rings. Were a small amout of air is leaking passed the piston rings.

So this is a new supercharger kit? Your seals shouldnt be bad then if its that new. Have you had a shop look at it yet?

i just got the kit from mph less then 3 weeks ago
i installed the kit i dont like shops touching my car then just dont seem to know what the hell they are talking about

i use to have the same kind of problem with my ford probe gt remove the intake and had some oil in there did not hurt anything but i still would like to know why its happening

there is no oil that i can see in the tubes comming from the valve cover it almost looks like the charger is spitting out the oil

its not a lot of oil but is noticable when you look in the intake

no idea if the power pipe help i have not seen a dyno yet so i have not really gotten on the car hard
