Oil leak- pcv?

On my 95 5.0- There is oil leaking from the front of the engine, seems to come from front of the crankshaft. Would a bad PCV valve make the engine force oil out of the front seal? Rear main seal is new. Also, I'm not quite sure where the PCV valve is on the 5.0, I'm used to the old carbed 289's and 302's. Thanks

Most likely that crank seal is just hardened and leaking.
But you're correct about the absence of adequate crankcase ventillation allowing vapor to find the next least path of resistance - often crank seals.

I have the feeling that if you pulled the balancer, you'd simply find that front seal vulcanized.

For your PCV, go to the passenger side and look at the back of the passenger side lower intake. You'll see the valve (it gets shrouded by a fat wiring harness) and it's egress hose heading toward the driver's side.

I'd replace the valve, grommet and screen with Motorcraft pieces - they all fit nice and tight (I can't say the same about aftermarket PCV valves and grommets).

Good luck bud.
