I bought a used Milodon oil pan, and was wondering if using rtv as a gasket between the oil pump and the pickup is a bad idea. i also wanted to know if you are supposed to use those steel pieces when bolting the oil pan to the block, or if I would just use bolts.
Not sure about the RTV on the pickup, I guess RTV black would be ok, but I'm not sure. I would use the metal pieces on each side of the pan, because it makes for a more even seal, distributes the seal more evenly. JMHO
