i have a 351w and when i start it the oil pressure is at about 50 psi. then when its warmed up at about 800 rpm going down the road its at about 13 psi. and at about 2500 rpm its about about 38-40 psi. is that ok? im using a standard pump and a fram oil filter with 30wt oil. here is my engine combination:
351w 9.5:1 cr
twisted wedge heads
comp cam xe 274h cam
weiand stealth holley 750

what could i do to raise the oil pressure if its not ok now?
thanks

It sounds like you have to much clearance in your bearings; once everything heats up and expands, the oil is not being held in and forced through the proper channels and you lose oil pressure.

Standard is about 10PSI per 1,000 RPM. A good gauge is your lifters (if hydraulic). If they are adjusted properly and not clacking, you're probably ok. Also, are you sure that your sending unit is accurate? If not, it could cause false readings at the gauge.
