On the way home the other day, I looked at my gauge and noticed i had no oil pressure so I shut it down and pulled it the 30 miles home. Anyways, I think my melling high volume oil pump locked up possibly. I havent pulled the motor out yet. Probably doing that Saturday, but I have no oil at all going through my clear line for my mechanical gauge. Before this happened, it did seem to smoke a little more then usual according to my brother that was following me. He said it was a bluish color. Anyways, what all can cause no oil pressure? Should I go with another melling high volume oil pump or a standard one? I hope thats what it is. The motor doesnt make any noise and I drained the oil and there were no shavings, and it was full on oil. Anybody? Thanks, Chris

Most likely your oil pump locked up and then that caused the oil pump driveshaft to turn into a twizzler and snap off. Might as well buy both in standard version. The Hi volume one is not doin anything but robbing HP since you are probably running tight clearances on that rebuilt motor.
