OK,

Within the last 1,000 miles or so (blower has been on about 3k miles now), I've noticed a puff of smoke on start up on occasion. Sometimes it lasts for only a second, others it lasts for a few seconds. I narrowed the problem down to the PCV system - but I'm not sure if what I've found is the cause or a symptom.

I made the standard home-brew kit and it works fine. I took it for a ride tonight and drove it under boost a few times. Got back home and the reservoir was about 1/3 full.

Is this normal? I'm only running 7 pounds of boost and the car runs stellar otherwise . . . btw, the reservoir CLEARLY states that its' not designed for use with synthetic oil - anyone had a problem with this?

I'm running a seperator as well (with Mobil 1 synth) with no ill effects. I too, put together a Home Depot kit myself (Husky air compressor filter, hose, barb fittings, etc). It's amazing how much oil the factory PCV system sucks into the intake manifold...

Anybody got a link or write up regarding how to make the 'home depot kit'? I'm sure I could figure it out but it'd prolly be easier, knowing what to buy.

This reservoir fills up 1/3 of the way in 15 miles. I'm beginning to think that the BBK cam covers are to blame as they lack any kind of baffling . . .

Where's SVTTECH when you need him?

try running an oil cap breather instead. it will reduce the crank case pressure.
