oil seperator grommet?

I'm finishing up my 2.3T install and when I put the oil seperator into the block it seemed really loose. I don't remember if it had a grommet on it or not. If it is souposed to have one I doubt I have it anymore, do local auto parts stores have this, because I looked on Schuck's website and coulnd't locate it.

Nope, no grommet, it's supposed to be a light press fit in the block (i.e. seat it in the hole and whack it with a mallet). Is it still loose even after doing that?

I thought it was seated all the way, but I'll try the "mallet whack" instalation method tomorrow.

If you're worried about it being loose and leaking just clean it real good as well as the block's hole and then lube it up with gasket sealer and toss it in the block and leave it until it cures. that should definitely do it.
