Oil Tempearture sender (mounting location question)

I want to know the best place to install the sender for oil temperature.

I just got in my guages (oil pressure, oil temp, water temp) from Autometer. My radio / gauge bezel is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. My oil cooler should be here sometime next week and my 3-core brass radiator is waiting in the garage. [Small mods thread here I come...! ]

I am leaning towards teeing it off of the OEM location for Oil pressure. But, would that be too high up in the pan? I understand Turning left and hard left corners will lend the sensor to be unsubmerged momentairilly since it's installed on one side of the pan as opposed to in the middle somehow. I doubt that would effect the reading but I want a second opinion.

Any thoughts?

My Autometer gauge is in the stock location. I completely disconnected/removed the stock oil pressure sender and used the Autometer gauge/sender. Just a thought.

I plan on removing the stock sender also... I just want to know if it's a good spot to get Oil temperature rreading from.

I teed/T'ed/tee'ed (however you spell it) my Autometer to work with my OEM sender at the stock location. Only trick was turning the fitting so that it gave me enough room to loop the brass tubing up and around without going near the exhaust manifold.

Autozone part # for the T-fitting: 320906 (has one male end and two female ports)

Don't forget the Teflon tape!

Are you guys talking about an oil temp gauge or oil pressure? I would not use a Tee on a temp gauge, since the oil there would tend to be alcoved and reflect temp deltas more radiantly than real time.

For temp, if not tapping the pan, either a drain plug conversion to house the sensor or using the low level sensor location might work.

Do you know where the pickup is in the rear sump (This will be my first Ford to modify) I think I am going to tap into the pan as low as posible on the left side.
