ok...heres what i bought what else should i save for???

here's a list of things i bought...mustang cobra black headlights w/corner, cobra open letter valve covers efi, Ford Racing E303 roller camshaft 302 EFI**New, smog pump eliminator w/pulley, mac 1 5/8" hts coated 5.0 Mustang headers, Fiberglass 3" Cobra R Bolt-on Mustang Hood, alpine 4 channel amp(don't much care for the mach stereo system)....i also have a 1/2 " heat spacer and ford racing 3:73 gears i need to install.....so i would like everyones opinions on what else i should save for and get....i know i'm going to save for afr 185 heads for next year...but what else should i save for??? i was thinking a 75 mm throttle body, msd distributor cap and rotor, msd ignition coil, and 9mm spark wires.....

why'd you chooses to install a cam so early in the game? i would say to hold off with the cam install for now and sink that money into an intake, although if its a cobra, maybe a port job might be just as good of an option. if you are going to install the cam, get a tuning device since cams can raise hell on our cars. they arent quite as easy to tune when it comes to cams... at least from everything i hear, i have had no personal experience with cam swaps

I agree with DT....hold the cam and wait for the heads.....do it at one time.....unless you enjoy tearing things down.......nothing like practice....
and you will surely need a tuning device for yourself or pay a professional to SCT it........to get the driveability issues corrected and to get the most hp out of the set up.

put the cam in i would not put a 75mm tb on. go for a 65mm. you will need an adaptor from profesionla products to make the egr tube work with the spacer.

Go for the cam it sounds real mean i have the same one and mines a cobra also. It also makes good power.

I have seen that said as well ... Quite a few times

Many have said there is not enough pv clearance

I would not spend One Penny for ANY ignition mods

As long as your OEM system is in good shape

Buy something that will make some power

Some Pulleys would give you a nice tq pick up

A CAI would be nice on a cool evening too

it won't take me no time at all to install the cam....or the heads when i get them, but i do enjoy working on cars.....cam will go in in about 4 or 5 weeks....

About the tune and other suggestions

You say you wanna go ahead and put in that cam.

I'd hold off on the maf and tb for a while to keep everything
as simple as possible.

This would mean the only thing you change is the e-cam.

btw ... the addition of just the cam ........
I don't think it will even come close
to pegging the OEM meter.

anyway ..........

See how it goes and work with all the mechanical adjustments
such as the tb blade stop screw, isc, and the like.

You may be one of the lucky folk who can make it with no tune.

Now ... when or if you go to a different meter .......
Who knows about those electronic or tube cal'ed meters
and
You may at that time be forced to go with a tune

if your tearing into the motor and you are getting a smog pump eliminator why not do some enginebay clean up and remove all the uneeded smog equipment and egr stuff...it makes a big difference in appearnace and takes the clutter out of the pass side engine bay... do you plan on sticking with the cobra intake ? maybe a 255lp fuel pump ...cobra come with 24lbs injectors correct? i would say you would be in a good route maybe get the bottle next?

I have no tune...never had one. But, the car bucks like crazy under 1500 rpms, and surges and dies on cold stattup in freezing weather *have to sit there and hold the gas pedal lightly until the o2's warm up). Other than that its not bad at all. I am going to get a tune soon tho, its been 2 yrs. and i'm finally getting sick of that crap.

I always recommend Don at lasotaracing.com.....he took great care of me and he trains a lot of SCT people....if u can't get to him he can lead you in the right direction........

how do i clean up the egr stuff???? i know how to get rid of the smog crap, but this is the first sn-95 i ever had and am curious about the egr crap?? sorry i'm abit ignant on some things....

There are piston to valve clearance issues. This is correct.

I'd retard the stock cam 4 degrees before I ever in a million years dropped a dime or the elbow grease on installing an e-cam. Unless you are just looking for a lope.

At least get a trickflow stage 1 if price is your concern. Not utilizing split lift, split duration technology in the year 2007 is a crime against humanity.

i agree with this 100%. the tfs stage 1 is inexpensive, and i managed with no tuning for a good while with this cam installed.
