my 90 gets a consist 29 mpg with 3.27 gears and a 5-speed the last set of motorcraft sparkplugs went 115,000 miles and wern't platnum my 86 GT has 240,000 on stock replacement plugs most of my driving is hiway 75 to 85 mph with the gear that in it turns about 2700 rpm at 80mph.
...wtf mate? I was absolutely thrilled the other day to find that I was finally averaging 18.5/gallon. How the h$&# are you guys getting that much? Its probably the A4LD...that and I am beginning to be of the opinion that my car is at 205xxx miles as opposed to 105xxx (no 6th place holder so who knows). Going to add CAI soon, anyone think of other stuff to do to improve this (save trashing A4LD)?

My 'vert has 151000 miles and still gets 28 MPG, so I don't think the mileage on your odo is an issue. The A4LD should only cut you back about 1-2 MPG, at the most. Get a tuneup, mod your intake and use a K&N. I have seen older threads concerning some real bad 2.3 MPG issues, you might want to search back.......
25 if i am driving it hard, 25 if i am on the interstate, 25 if i am calmly driving in the city.. It doesnt make sense, but that seems to be what i get.
sounds like my old F250 diesel, it got 20 pretty much all the time. sometimes as much as 24. the only two times it got less was;
1: the first tanks when i got it, i got 16.
2: driving from oklahoma city to albuquerque fighting a stiff headwind it got 17.
