Wouldn't the rotating assembly have to be balanced?

Yeah you would have to have them bore it, new cam bearings balance the rotating assembly, and I would have them put it in the block too. I had them do that for my motor and found out the rods had to be clearenced. I would have never known that. For them to balance it they will need the rotating assembly and flexplate or flywheel and the balancer. Also see if they can buy the rotating assembly because they might have a guy that they deal with that sells good ****. But it is up to you.

For my 393, I had the shop bore it .040, you could probably get away with a .030 bore. The cubes come from the 3.85 stroke crank. I used 302 pistons for the wrist pin location. If you decide to build it yourself, get ready for alot of work, mainly from grinding the crank for .050 clearance between the block and crank. In the end you'll have to have everything balanced; crank, rods+pistons, balancer and flywheel.
