Ok, if you've been following this saga you might remember the previous hard start posts. First I was told to check the FPR and Fuel pump. I do not have my Fuel pressure gauge here at school, so I wanted some assurance before making any other purchases (already dropped 150+ on tune up). Checked with some shops and they told me that the electrical is usually more heat sensetive, car started poorly after 1st start of the day.

Well here is the new information, did some hands on investigation and found something out of the ordinary. One of my vacuum lines which happens to be semi-clear was filled with what looked like gas. I took the next step and checked the line coming out of the top of my Kirban FPR. Soon as I pulled the line out of the top, out came gas.

Last time I check this was no good.

So, to make sure, this means the FPR has gone bad correct???

yep, bad diaphram. Jrichker and 5 spd GT are two guys i know of that run that regulator - I think they are rebuildable, but those guys probably know for sure.

good luck.

yeah, I think that's bad. I would swap in the stock FPR to see if you're having the same problems.

Gas out the fuel pressure regulator is a very bad thing, and means the regulator diaphram is leaking. However, Kirban regulators are rebuildable and you can get repair parts for them. That's one reason I have one on my 89 GT. Try doing a Google search on Kirban & see what you can find.
