Ok... So Im A Dork. No Rad Air Deflector, Can I Have It W Mach 1?

Ok so the other day made a thread how ole blue (95 gt) is running hotter since the addition of mach 1 chin spoiler. Well when I had the car painted I had a new bumper cover put on and mach 1 chin spoiler added to it. Well the body shop must have trashed the radiator air deflector with the old bumper. Now my question is can I run the rad deflector in conjunction with the mach1 chin, would it still mount correct or would the chin spoiler be in the way and if it will mount would it pointless b/c the chin spoiler would be blocking the air anyway? I found this one on latemodelrestoration.com http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/LRS-8349C/94-04-Ford-Mustang-Radiator-Air-Deflector does it mount to the radiator core support or to the bumper cover? If I am remembering correct the oem one was just a flap hanging infront of the radiator

The chin spoiler will not be in the way.
The air deflector mounts on the bottom of the radiator support.

I imagine the deflector will work fine with the mach 1 chin spoiler.

It mounts at the rear of the bumper cover right under the core support. I don't know how the chin spoiler mounts, but looking at it I think they mount in different locations. Mine is actually missing the chin spoiler.

The chin spoiler just screws into the bumpercover towards the front. If memory serves I think 5.0 ford guy is right and the deflector was attached to the bumper cover towards the rear hence why it is gone now since I don't have the old bumper cover. One more quickie; I wonder if the deflector will be seen? I hope not, I think it'd look like goofy like its got buck teeth if you saw both it and the chin spoiler hanging down

You won't notice it so much. It's funny, I saw 4 or 5 chin spoilers at the junk yard the other day. I didn't even know I needed one. I am going to go back now and spend a couple hours searching for a grille for that hood vent we discussed and see if I can find a chin spoiler and a couple new hood side vents since I screwed mine up trying to dry them in the oven. Those things shrink badly at 150 degrees

You put the vents in the oven after you painted em? Must have been in a hurry, hot date?? Yeah I guess they help, the air deflector that is. Mine isn't over heating but the stock gauge is reading higher than it did but my main concern is the cabin feels so dern hot now. I'm guessing/hoping that the lack of rad deflector is the culprit and that if I get a new one the chin spoiler wont "spoil" (pun intended)the effect of air getting directed into the rad. Lemme know how the hood vent thing works out. I think if the gt's had larger vents we'd have better luck makin em more functional.

I am referring to the small black screens that snap into the fiberglass hood vents. I was in a hurry. I washed them real good with soapy water and a brush to paint them (I didn't have any alcohol). I tried to dry them but all the tiny holes were not cooperating. So I figured I'd toss them in the oven for a minute or so. I went back outside and started spraying the right side vent and forgot them. They were in the oven for like 10 minutes. They were putty when I pulled them out

I was going to paint them silver to resemble aluminum inserts. I will post a pic when I get new ones and get it done.

Awhile back I posted a pic of my old man and the car on here when it was fresh out of the paint booth. Yeah 300k, dad bought it with 15k miles in early 96 and had it ever since. Never broke down, no major problems. The motor was rebuilt 2 years ago and now its our little project together. We've been going through trying to get er back to new or a little better. There are two components. My car still has both. The one mounted to the cover is a hard plastic material. The one mounted to the rad support is a flexible rubber like material.
