ok so i fillany stopped being lazy and i swaped out my 7.5 rear and put in my 8.8 and also put a set of south side lower control arms on my car.problem is the car sits at least 4 inches higher than before .i also put the rear springs from my 88gt in.any one ever have this problem?i dont want to drive round looking like a jack ass it just looks rediculos.lowering springs would help problem is i need about a 6inch drop i the back so my car dosent look like it rode the short bus or went back to the late 60s.is heating the springs a real bad idea so if any body has any iders it would be help full.i dont think the suspension will settle in that much but maybe a hard launch will help if all else fails i will put the 4cyl springs back in

Heating the spring= VERY bad idea
Cutting the springs= also BAD idea
Re-installing the 4cyl springs= perfect

It may sit a tad high, but i loved them on my car. Nice ride.

you'll probably like the 4cyl ones just fine.
Might wanna ask Southside who's springs they recommend.

I've wondered about putting 4cyl springs in my car as well. Car sits a good 2" higher in the front, and always has. Took it to schwab and they aligned it and shrugged their shoulders. Might be a good option for me as well.

4cyl springs up front isint bad for normal traffic driving or racing at the drag strip but i wouldnt try to take any corners especally if you dont have a sway bar

I was cruising Corral and found this....makes sense, may want to reconsider. On a lowered car, the lift bars are not going to be as effective. But again, you may want to call and verify

The way they work is by using the full suspension(spring) travel to propelled the car up and forward. Explain!!

The instant center of your car at factory height is already approx. 17" in front of your front bumper, good for stability but not for Drag racing. If you draw a line from your lower and upper control arms you'll realize that they intersect, by the car being lowered, even further in front of the car.
Now, SSM bars have that bracket that you WELD and will place your lower control arm at a steep angle, related to the upper, and will therefore bring that "intersection" of the control arms much further back, normally behind the front fender, and consequently changing your instant center. By doing this your car will not unload at launch and will transfer all the weight to the rear tires and greatly improving short times.

The way I see it, raise to factory height and put them on or sell them to me !!! LOL

I was just about to suggest that maybe you installed them w/o the I.C. brackets and that's why it sits up so high. The SS bars have a raised spring perch (2 or 3") because of the lower rear mounting point.
