I am doing my plugs and I took some of the smog stuff out. Would it be ok to leave this off the car? I sont have any plugs or anything so every thing would stay open.

your gonna want to plug up any open ends if u leave it off

also, are u still running cats? if you are, the air pump is needed or the cats can go south quick

The ones that go to the back of the heads need to be pinched or plugged somehow. Im not for sure what happens if you dont, but it cant be good.

I removed everthing but the airpump. I just let it pump into nowhere. Doesnt seem to hurt anything.

Also you need to plug the vaccum lines.

Autozone makes a nice rubber cap in the "HELP" section that will fit over that sucker no problem.

You can also remove the smog tube from the back of the heads and plug the hole with some pipe plugs and loctite. We did this on Sam's car the other day.

Let me know if you want detailed pics of any of that - I've got his old heads, smog tube etc sitting in the ever growing "graveyard of stock parts" in my shop. :)

I have a pretty good idea of how it goes on. So pics arent necessary.

You should let me have Sams stock heads so I can practice my porting work. :)

And Ill make sure to bring you my smog stuff when i get rid of it. lol.

Hell no keep that smog crap at your house.

You'll have to bring it up with Sam if you want him to give you head, that's not how I roll.

you fruits

btw like wes said, go to autozoned and get a couple rubber caps
cap the pipe going to midpipe and cap the tube coming from back of the heads
i ran this way over a year with no issues

when you get some time you can remove the metal tube to the midpipe and weld the hole in the midpipe shut

you can take all the metal piping off and cut the ends that bolt on to the head, flip it 180 over and bolt it back up to plug the holes in the head. i did it to mine and it works like a champ.
