Is the master cylinder supposed to be to the valve cover? I bought a new set of Cobra LeMans covers from Branda, (what originally came on it) and they fit, but are about 3/4 inch from the master cylinder. Its the factory master and the original Dual Quad 428 all stuffed in there. At torque it leans to the right , so no prob there, but idle puts it pretty close. Anybody know about that?

Master Cylinder

That's normal. The master cylinder on all big block 67-70 Mustangs with power brakes is very close to the valve cover.

Ditto------ If you want more room there, put a set of "Powered by Ford" chrome steel valve covers ( the ones the GT390 and 428CJ's came with) These will give you much more clearance, handy when you go to change spark plugs.

You should see how much clearance there isn't with a 429.

I have an extra set up power by ford valve covers. want me to post a picture?
