2.5 inch piping for your x/h pipe. Anything bigger is i think going to affect your HP negatively. as far as your tail pipes from your mufflers back. I guess 3 inch piping is fine along with 3.5 inch tips.

whats your set up going to be?

good luck to your purchases. and hopefully you'll love the sound she throws out back. Let us know when you're getting this done, and get us a video when you can.

You bet man, it will be done before june 5th haha thats the first night of one of the car shows by me, so by the end of may this will all be done, i have my old tbird with a similar set up in my sig (youtube), i had jba shorty headers, magnaflow cats 2 1/4 pipe H-Pipe and Delta 40's but the muffler placement along with the slightly larger pipe and original 40's will sound 10 times better. After i get this all done, im gonna go with pypes shorty headers (I KNOW DONT FLAME) instead of long tubes, i tend to do things backwards haha

lol, im sure long tubes will sound a little better and will def perform better but since i do things backasswards, the shorties for me is good enough, when i do take care of that, wont be for a few months, but i will def get a vid going as soon as i get the exhaust done, cant wait! and i think im just gonna go 2.5 all the way around with the 3.5 tips,

Stick with 2.5"

And don't waste your money on shorty headers. They're just a shinier (and pricier) version of your stock headers.

thanks night, i know i was reading that on here too that there really isn't much of a difference, but i will say on my tbird the sound difference was apparent between those stock manifolds and the jba shorties, do our cars come with tubular stock headers or the cast iron manifolds? i had a 97 3.8L tbird at one point too and it came stock with tubular manifolds..... :\
