Do the 91 lx 5.0 come with posi stock ??? I did a burnout and only one tire spun and left a mark ?? could it be It is low on fluid ? The person that owned the car before me put 3.55 in so I suppose it has posi why would you put gears in before posi track that would be kind of dumb.

ford called it trac-loc (i think thats how you speel it) and it sounds like the guy who owned the car before you shouldn't have done so many burnouts :D

sounds like it neeeds to be rebuilt, i had mine rebuilt when i did my 3.73's.....not by choice though

all 5.0L equipped aero foxes came with 8.8" rear ends with Trac lok. rebuild kits are 50 bucks-ish. people like to do one or several different things to get the packing tighter when doing a rebuild.

good luck.

mine both spin, but if i do it on certain surfaces and angles, they spin differently, its like different places only one wheel will spin, but its not always the same wheel

I rebuilt the traction-loc in mine using an extra clutch on each side. I used the clutch disc from the middle and reinstalled it towards the middle since they were the least worn. I used the clutch-plate-clutch-plate-clutch-plate clutch arrangment. It made a big difference and mine wans't even that worn out, it's just the Right spun considerable more than the left.

You can get away with the one bottle that comes with the kit if you carefully pour it in the gear oil bottle after you're done soaking the frictions. Then it all goes in at once.

That's what I was thinking. However when I did mine I soaked the clutches but I never dumped any of it in with the gear oil.

There are no cars on the street that have posi. Posi locks both wheels so the turn at the same time. If you had posi you couldnt make turns. They have limited slip.
Actually you can make turns. But at the expense of putting major stress on axles and differentials. You are not allowing each wheel to turn at its own speed. That is why most people who have a posi rear end on street cars also have strong axles.

A true posi locks the rear so the tires are moving at the same speed all the time. You are not thinking of TRUE posi. Drive a car with true posi and let me know the results.
