Good luck finding ANY insurance company that will cover Open Track time. I got dropped from State Farm just for having a preppared vehicle.
My insurance company does (Farmers). I've talked to a couple others (though not State Farm, thanks for the tip :)) -- most would cover it provided it is not a timed or sanctioned event.

And that means that if you wreck your car at the street legal drags, it's not covered.

Thanks for the Farmers tip-I'll check into them. The impression I've been getting from insurance companies is "you will be covered in the pits but when you are on the track the coverage stops"

Dave,

Does your car have a cage?

The roll bar on that AC cobra does not like it helped much.

guy's head probably got a little squished.

thats a cobra? looks like a vette to me, the body line comes down the top of the fender (cobras are round without a seam) and the taillights are horizontal (cobras are vertical) ....

Good eyes... now that you mention it, I tend to agree, that looks a lot more like an old vette than an AC Cobra.
