I may need to replace any or all of the following: ignition control module (TFI), ignition coil, and throttle position sensor on my 1995 GT and I wanted to know if the replacement parts from Autozone would be okay to use for those listed or if I should replace them with Ford OEM parts? I hope to pinpoint the problem so I do not have to replace all of the parts. The problems I am having include pinging and hesitation over 3K. Dies randomly while idling (like someone just turned off the key). Sometimes will not start...it cranks but does not turn over. I also know that the PIP in the dizzy could cause that but hopefully that is not the problem because I would have to take that to a professional and I dont have the money for that right now. Please just let me know about the parts from Autozone, thanks!

I always use the Autozone/Napa/PepBoys special parts. Napa tends to have the best quality out of the three, but I've used the others with good results. Could just be my stupid luck though? If you're planning to replace your ignition coil, I'd use a quality aftermarket piece like an MSD. Having the PIP replaced shouldn't be any more expensive than doing the other parts, as you could just pick up a remanufactured distributor instead. Good luck!

I have to agree with him on this. But try to find a reputable shop and scan this bad boy. I know from experience that these 94-95 are picky and scaning it may save you alot of $$$$$ and actually fix the problem:shrug:
