I would really think about going to an alum head for the weight loss. This will allow you to put all the weight were you need it, when you scale the car with the autocrossing.

11's would be tight since the suspension will not be set for a straight line, which I feel you are going to need to get 11's; Depending on the weight of your car. The Gt-40 explorer combo with the GT-40p heads can get you in the 11's but you'll need some decent porting and a custom cam will be a must.
The issue with the stroker is the above components are a little small to properly feed a stroker. If you need help with a motor let me know, if cubic inch is not limited by a class (if you are planning for an autocross racing class) then go 347.

Just my pre coffee thoughts...lol $.02

Ya the T-Top is pretty heavy.Ive got rid of the ac and the fog light bracket but im kinda scared of lossing more weight on the front of the car because I dont wont that "engine being out look" again after the new springs.lol Any thoughts on the nos and the rockers. I might get into the auto x but im not sure. Mainly looking for something that is and all around ground pounder and corner carver. But im kinda set on the Explorer/Budget build thing. Thx for the feed back.

Base the rockers on the cam profile...

I like the NX N2O stuff personally.

Bottom end - Stock 302 roller block decked, aligned, honed, blueprinted to specs and bored .030 over, Scat 4340 forged steel profiled crank 3.4 stroke, Scat 4340 forged steel H-beam rods w/ L19 rod bolt upgrade, 5.4 length, SRP 10:1 flat tops forged pistons, Comp Cam XE282HR, Speed Pro rings, Clevite H-series bearings, TFS Hi-Port Heads Stage 2 port, SVO Z304 heads Stage 2 or AFR 205 heads, either TFS R intake or Victor EFI port matched, rotating assembly balanced to 28oz., Manley 4130 chromemoly pushrods, SVO double roller billet timing chain, Canton 7 qt pan, Melling HV/HP oil pump with ARP hardened shaft, ARP main and head studs, 30lb inj, 75mm TB, 77MAF, Comp Cam Pro magnum 1.6 roller rockers, TCI Rattler 28oz damper. This combo will give u a 347 stroker. If u don't want a stroker then use a 3.0 stroke crank and the 5.4 rod and u will have a 302 longrod. Wet kits r better than dry and not more than a 100 shot. This 347 stroker will put down 400rwhp and 400rwtq, NA.

Stock block good to 500rwhp and internal rotating assembly good to 1000hp.

I'd say it's very unlikely to happen for you. Explorer intake, stock head combo on RR style suspension probably won't get you anywhere past 13.20 NA. So you'll probably need a 150 shot to do the rest of the work. Which is silly, because instead of spending 700 bucks on NOS stuff, you could just put that money towards better heads combined with the money you were going to spend porting the stockers, and get to the low 12's that way.
You can port and polish the hell out of stock heads, but at their max, they won't even equal a NIB set of aluminum afr's or tw's.

That depends on how well the ported p's are done. But regardless, that combo is going to be choking a 347. Probably make a ton of torque, and just average Hp.

Sounds like you are trying to create a combo that will need to be replaced by something better, soon after it's done. IMO save up, get all high end parts to begin with, so you only need to do with once.

By the time you take the p heads, do a good port/valve job/bowl blend/springs, and then $200 headers, you could of just bought a better aluminum head for the same or less money, and have a lighter faster car.
