Hey guy, I found a nice '96 GT I want to buy. Red, black leather, runs good and its a 5 speed. Problem is I ran a carfx and this came up,

Structural / frame inspection performed
after an accident or other incident
Structural / frame damage reported
Damage to rear
CARFAX began reporting information from this source on 05/06/2005.

I dont know what to make of it, it could be just the rear bumper mounts maybe, or a seriouse impact to the subframe. Please give me advise. I am getting a really good deal on the car, but... I dont want a wreck.

Iam not a expert on this. But I would ask the owner about it. find out what was damaged and how it was repaired. If it was light damage and was repaired properly I wouldnt sweat it. maybe you could take it to a collision shop and have them look at it for a small fee. The other thing you have to keep in mind is that this cars value will always be real low. Did the person/dealer disclose the damage? I would only buy it if you plan on keeping it for a long long time.

The guy is a wholesale friend so he dosnt know the history of the car. The car was NOT salvaged though so not sure why the retail will be low as you say? Most cars out there have been in some kind of accident.
