Opinions on pricing this car?

I drove past a 5.0 notch for sale tonight and stopped to check it out. It's an 89 SSP car. Grey with red interior, automatic and unknown miles. The body is relatively straight, but it has been hit in the left front at some point. The fender doesn't line up with the door and hood very well at all. The trunk deck has a little rust on the bottom edge and the rear bumper cover has a big mark right in the center. A couple of the 10-holes have major curb rash but they appear to have new tires on them. All of the window moldings look really nasty. If I was guessing, I'd think it was probably ex-CHP. I haven't driven it or even talked to the guy. He was sleeping and his 15-year old son didn't know anything about it. The sign in the window says $3500 obo. I think that's way high and that $2500 sounds about right. I've been sort of looking for a 5.0 coupe and this one seems like it might make a cool driver. Any opinions on value?

From prior experience, any fox body with red interior, and an automatic is $2500 TOPS! in good shape. It took me forever to sell my 88 LX 5.0 H/B Auto. It was Burgandy with red interior and was a VERY clean car, especially for an 88, but the interior and the auto just ruined it for most people. Just my 2 cents.
